4* for news. But 1* because it does not exit when you use the back button. The cnn app opens when you click on CNN news in a browser ( don't want it to ). And the app doesn't exit when you hit back. News. I like the live audio only option on the front page. Handy during car drives. BUT it does not work on my pixel 4a 5g via bluetooth. All the other usual audio and music apps work ok.

I wish I could give this app zero stars. Only about 10% of the content is useful to me. TOO MANY VIDEOS! Ads are taking over. Please limit ads to 15 s max. It's ridiculous to have a 30 s ad before every video clip. I really didn't even want the damn videos, would much rather just have text to read. If you post a video you should also post a transcript for those who can't watch it or are hearing impaired. I'm finding very good textual information in the BBC app these days.

I would like to be able to listen to live broadcasts without having to stream the video with the screen having to be on. It kills my battery and wastes data. I've suggested this a while back in 2018 but nobody listens. When i'm at work, I want to listen to the c n n app and your broadcasts on my headphones. My phone would be in my case. About 1 minute later, the broadcast stops playing in my headphones until I take the phone out of my case, illuminate the screen, and hit play again. Fix it!!!
