I love everything pvz and have been playing the original since it was new. That being said, this version sucks. They force you to use certain cards for certain heros, meaning you don't actually get to make your own decks. The illusion of choice is very frustrating. It seems like the only way to get new cards is to grind for a ridiculously long time, or buy them, and its expensive. Now it glitches so bad it restarts my phone and makes a terrible noise. Getting rid of it before it breaks my phone.

Cool ideas are on display here. If it weren't for the terrible progression system, matchmaking, rng mechanics and some of the worst balancing I've ever seen in my life, it might even be good. The outcome of games is not determined by skill, but a combination of who had the better starting hand and who drew better cards. The campaign started as a good way to avoid multiplayer, but the levels just ballooned into nightmares of rng. If I could describe the game in one word it would be "irritating".

Bugs
Great game but there are a lot of bugs. Particularly with gargantuars. Nurse Gargantuar doesn't heal at all anymore, expensive yet does nothing. Gargantuars played in the graveyard env, the game freezes progress. I can still click on everything, including Concede, but it doesn't progress to Plants Play. I've left the game open for 10 minutes like this and nothing happens. This causes me to either Concede (even on good plays) or to close the app completely and lose progress on my wins either way.
