BugsConfusingDifficultFamilyFeature RequestsLevelSpendingWaitingThis app is great. Easy for my kid to navigate and he enjoys most of the games. However, some games should have a way for parents to adjust the difficulty or the app to recognize when to adjust the difficulty level for some things. For example, the pizza making math game is great but is too easy for my kid. I feel he would benefit from some increased challenge by adding more toppings or increasing the amount of required toppings. It’s always “place 1 pepperoni” or “place 3 mushrooms.” Also, I would be happy to pay if there were stories that were interactive. My kid likes the storybooks one with the little girl and was confused when she asked a question and you couldn’t interact to help her solve the answer but instead you wait around and it happens on its own. Sorry , that was a long sentence. I am very tired and probably have better things to do, but I hope you know what I just meant. But yeah, interactive stories and real time problem solving.

AdsBugsDeviceFamilyHate itSpendingI first saw this app through a Carter’s shipment ad and installed it on my daughters iPad to try (There should be a trial period according to Carter’s ad, may be 2 or 3 months) We tried the entire day (because this would be her first app, so she insisted quite a lot) but this app was never opened so I found another one for my daughter. I had no idea how much this app or what would be the trial term, but since we tried all day that day and could not be successful, I just gave up. Today I realized that this app is making me pay a monthly fee of $9.99 since two months😳 We have never opened the app, never been able to use, even for once, and paid all those money! My suggestion to all future customers would be to go to their settings and cancel their subscriptions in case that they will face the same problem as we do. Apple chat support warned me that it is not enough to delete an app if it is a subscription even during the trial period. Sorry I am not an insider since I have never been able to use the app but I also don’t believe that I am the only person who faces a such problem so wanted to warn you all.

AudioDifficultFamilyHate itLove itUpdatesWe have been using homer for almost a year now and I can say my son has absolutely been learning to read because of it. I love how easy it is to use and how clear the directions are, without a lot of distracting pictures or sounds like others learning apps that are difficult to follow for an early reader. I am thankful for the update as my son was getting bored with the same pictures, etc. My only couple of critiques with new update is that the little reader books on the learning pathway seemed to be timed after you tap the record button, so the recorded voice starts to play back before my son has finished reading the sentence. Prior to update you could tap record and drag your finger to follow the words until the end of the sentence (at your own pace). In addition, the new letter tracing lesson doesn’t offer any directions, which is different in the new update. Sometimes the lessons can be a bit repetitive and my son gets frustrated/bored, but we try to move through those ones faster so I can keep him interested. All in all it’s a good app we will continue using. He would not know what he knows now if we had not began using this app, so for that I am grateful!
