Gives a great way to keep a history of the wines tasted plus see those of your friends that subscribe to the app. Shortfall is anyone can rate a wine, and people who identify a wine as “corked”, and rate it poorly can bring the wine score down significantly, despite it not being the fault of the winemaker or the winery. Corked wines should be identified as such, so as not to impact a score. Ot might be better to include ratings of professional critics in addition to the members for perspective. The other issue is some users improperly identify a wine, further confusing the ratings. Since a user takes an image, and then the possible wines are presented to chose. I’ve seen reds for whites, and whites for reds but many wineries have so many bottlings, proper identification is a challenge, either because of carelessness, or being “over-served”

Cool app but it needs to work better. The wine identification works pretty well from a photo but if you don’t have a photo, the search doesn’t work very well. Also 10% of the wine I’ve had lately has not been in Delectable, and I just have an option to “request an expert review”, which seemingly never does anything. I should be able to set the wine details manually if they’re not in the tool. The location search feature is unusable, basically if you set the location while you’re there, it will work, but if you write the review later then you have no chance of finding the right location. Also, there is no way to edit the location of an existing review. Finally it would be nice if we could click things about the wine instead of writing everything in text. For example why can’t I click bubbles to describe common flavors? Similarly maybe slide bars for tannins, acid, and a slider from dark to red fruit.

I love this app and it is a great way to spark conversation and ideas from your friends when tasting. Also it is very helpful to hear how others describe wines. But honestly it would be a huge improvement if I could sort my wines according to where I had been. We mostly drink bottles at restaurants so when I return to a restaurant I want to know what I had before and thought of it. Could there be a filter for the location since you already enter that information when you rate a wine!
