I was very excited at first when I downloaded the app. There were no ads and it was free to use to look up how to play a song on guitar. Due to the type of music I listen to that isn’t extremely famous, this app was the only way I could learn how to play songs. But now with the recent update forcing me to pay to learn some of the songs, I am unable to learn many of the songs I love and want to learn. I do not mind ads, bc I understand they need to make a profit and afford all the amazing features this app offers, but I feel charging a monthly fee of $10 or annual fee of $40 is a bit too much. I fully agree with the idea that a business should be able to make money off of their product, but I think making the part of the app that has caused thousands of people to download the app is to be able to learn a song they want/need to learn quickly and easily, which this app has always provided until recently, when it now forces them to pay for this ability. When I first started playing guitar, this was the first app I downloaded, and I have stuck with it for years. I am a self taught intermediate level guitar player, and this app is the main reason I am where I am today. I am really grateful for what the app has done in the past, but I am sad about where it is now, forcing me to pay to learn songs. I sincerely hope things improve, because there has never been a better app for beginner guitar players than this app.

I used to love ultimate guitar. It was a great app that showed me basic chord structures for songs that I may not have known off the top of my head. I was always glad to open it up and quickly find chords to continue my inspiration of playing songs daily. Now though, it’s just terrible in my opinion. Every time the app updates, I will open it and it’s as if I’ve never used it before and makes me go through all the prompts of what I like and how I like to play and everything. It’s way too much. I just want to be in the inspiration of the moment and find chords to a song and play the song, but now I’m taking 15 minutes to tell ultimate guitar what they have known about my account for the past 8 to 10 years. In addition to this, it seems like the app just runs incredibly slow. I type in the song name or artist and the app takes about 30 seconds to a minute to find what I am looking for. It takes the fun out of my guitar and music playing and makes me not want to play music or songs at all. I want to say, I have always been fine with ultimate guitar using adds and promotions to make money. You are a business and your main goal should be profit based on your business idea. But, in the recent years I’m not sure what has changed, because to me it seems like everyone who is working at ultimate guitar has given up. The quality of the product is unfortunately not what it used to be.

*** I HOPE THIS GETS READ, THANK YOU** I have an iPhone 15 and I keep getting stuck in a tab. The back button gets stuck on the top left part of my screen, where the time is. and every time I try to press it, it doesn’t register. My guess is that the time blocks the back button. There are sometimes where I can swipe from left to right to go back but that doesn’t always work. I end up getting stuck and the only way to get out is to refresh the app which is pretty annoying. Also, when adding a song to a playlist, can you guys add a vibration? Right now a little yellow checkmark appears when adding a song to a playlist but can you also add a vibration too? That would be amazing and it makes sense. Also, a good feature would be when I’m in a playlist instead of having to click the upper right corner to move around the order of the song list. It would be nice if I can just tap and hold the song for like 2 second then move it up and down in the order that I want rather than having to click the three dots in the corner. Then press and hold the little bars, then move it. Doing little things like this makes the experience more seamless and user friendly. also, thank you for making an app that makes it so easy for us to learn and keep track of all of our songs. You guys are amazing!!!!
