“Hopscotch is the best way to express your imagination! Most other “learn to code” apps just make you complete boring levels with 4 “move” blocks, but in hopscotch you have the freedom to create anything, which is amazing.” — BuildASnowman, Hopscotcher
“This taught me sooooo much about basics of coding. I have been able to make some cool games I hope to learn more as I advance this app was extremely helpful and easy to learn.” — BestBeginnersCoding, Hopcotcher
“I had ZERO background or programming experience. I personally checked all 8 or 10 of these blogs about recommendations. And Hopscotch was the most intuitive and interactive. It’s not like you’re just playing video games. My daughter loves it!” — Mom, S. to daughter, 8
“I am a 4th grade teacher who LOVES your app. Our students have been introduced to coding through it and I am impressed with the creativity they have shown and the skills they are building while creating projects.” — Kelley, 4th grade teacher

FamilyFeature RequestsHate itSpendingUpdatesWhen I first downloaded the app was like a year ago and it still has the subscription but a few things were free like I got to create and publish games and customize my avatar but now everything needs a SUBSCRIPTION! like seriously now I can’t change my avatar now I can’t create or publish games. I can’t do anything. The only thing I could do is play other peoples games who are more fortunate than me to get a subscription. I don’t really like this new version. I like the old one better where you didn’t have to pay for every single thing. I mean, I think it’s just horrible that you can’t even create games that is so horrible what’s the point of playing a coding app when you can’t even code? And I’ve seen the reviews and all the responses are I’m sorry, but we need this to pay the bills and stuff. Well I’m pretty sure that you were paying the bills just fine last time all I’m saying is not every kid is fortunate, but can you just please lower the prices just a littleAnd the only reason I’m rating it three stars is because I understand not every game can be free and the old version was pretty cool

BugsFamilyLove itSpendingUpdatesWaitingI tend to have at least 3 hours a day on this app. I love the fact there aren’t too many tutorials and that it encourages people to figure it out themselves. There are so many great tools such as variables, “check once if,” and music. Although this app has so many options to create pretty much any game you would want, there is one problem… the reason I downloaded this app in the first place. The shark tank interview. As said in the demonstration, kids were encouraged to make money, through seeds, but instead, kids are only losing money. (If they want the subscription.) I know that the old system will not be added, but I would ask that you would take into consideration adding a comment section to each game. This would help kids to learn by having others give suggestions on how to improve. This would also allow a sense of community to develop around a developer or their game. Two more things, the ability to see the version history of a published game and a sequel system to create direct sequels to a past game you’ve created. So that’s pretty much it. I hope that you guys at least take one of these things into consideration and turn my 4 star review into 5 stars once again. Thanks for reading!

DeviceHate itSpendingUpdatesHopscotch is a good app. It’s fun, relatively easy to use, and fun. But what I ran into when coding a quiz game with the screen-in-screen tutorial wasn’t so fun. I started making it, and I did what she did until I saw her renaming the bold text under her other text, but I wasn’t able to. I brushed it off and kept going. Then I realized she had a variable option that I didn’t have, so I ended up doing something else that I knew wouldn’t work. She kept doing variable things that I couldn’t and when I went to test my game, sure enough, it didn’t work. I don’t know whether this is because I’m using an iPad, I don’t have a subscription, or she was using a different version of Hopscotch, but I’m very disappointed because I was excited to make a game like that and I wasn’t able to for a reason I don’t even know. Please fix, because I’m probably going to delete this if you don’t change it.
