I wish they did something that actually compelled women to send the first message. I’ve had this app for 8 years. During that time I’ve had lots of matches. As I’m writing this I have 5 that I’m waiting on a first message from. In that entire time, I’ve not had a single date from this app. 1/100 matches actually sends the first message allowing you to talk to them. As a guy it is so frustrating using this app and not being able to message your matches at all if they don’t message you, which they almost never do. Additionally they recently made it so that you only get 10 likes for free, they claim this is so that “users are encouraged to be more thoughtful in their swiping” but the real reason is that you have to pay for more! Obviously 10 likes isn’t enough to get a match let alone a date. In response to the free extend each day, I’ve used the extend many times before; I’ve never been messaged back during the extend window. If you really want to help free users and increase positive responses, then give more likes for free. The algorithm is truly diabolical in that I don’t see any of the women in my “pay to see who likes you” section for free, even after hitting the maximum number of free swipes per day everyday for months. Maybe I’d see them if I had more likes though. I’ve tried Bumble premium but I had the same problem then, women weren’t sending the first message.

I am like 99.9% sure that Bumble purposely hides accounts. I've been on and off bumble for 2 years and each time I decide to download this lame app, I only get a handful of likes and matches. Recently, I tried their premium subscription and got nothing. It came with free spotlights that are supposed to "put your profile before others" so similar to tinder's boosts (from how I interpret it). On each spotlight I launched, I didn't get a single like. Since I've downloaded the app last month, I've gotten 3 likes and two matches, and neither of the matches went anywhere especially since one was a bot account... I seriously doubt that their super swipes or compliments do anything to boost your odds at getting a match because I have not gotten a single match from them despite getting numerous matches with hinge's roses and tinder's superswipes. I've had two likes for a while, like several weeks, and I've swiped till I reach the "adjust your filters" screen on multiple occasions (yes both left and right) and still haven't come across the profiles that have "liked" me. I believe Bumble purposely hides these accounts to keep you in the app, so that you'll eventually get fed up and spend $40 on their premium+ subscription to see your likes, which is incredibly scummy. Don't download this app, and don't give them money. You're better off on hinge or just going out to meet people.

I’ve seen a lot of videos on dating apps and I feel like there’s a lot of downsides to using this app and I think it’s clear why these apps are not working as planned. The act of socializing is not locked in like how it’s like in work spaces and it’s clear people are very shallow with who they speak to. One solution I see is to give penalties and time out people that actively ghost people they match. This will encourage more interaction with the app than to keep scrolling till you find your idea imaginary person(THIS GOES FOR EVERY DATING APPS). My next solution! Favor people that actually want to a relationship/ something serious! These dating apps are becoming another game apps for hook ups for the majority while other want to find a life time partner. It defeats the purpose of the apps entirely. It’s just a game of looks and value. That’s not how it should work. My last solution! these are big app but can’t encourage or host singles event to promote the apps cause the dating apps are just to give you wishful thoughts. Events like these can break a social barrier that not everyone gets a chance go through cause you make it so easy for other to ignore what they could actually have with high value people that uses the app just to find a quick trill. Maybe these solutions can actually make dating apps better but I’m just a guy that haven’t gotten a actual match since I downloaded it
