–
When installing IRS2Go, you may see a list of Android permissions that the app requests. To help you understand why we ask for certain permissions, we’ve provided a breakdown of the usage.
“Location – Uses the device’s location.”
The app allows taxpayers to search for nearby Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) locations, which offer free tax help for taxpayers who qualify.
“Phone – Uses one or more of: phone, call log.”
The app allows users to make phone calls to the IRS or VITA/TCE locations.
“Photos/Media/Files – Uses one or more of: files on the device, such as images, videos, or audio; the device’s external storage.”
The Free Tax Help mapping feature uses these permissions to save map images and data to your phone’s storage. This means that your phone won’t need to download the same map data every time.

Version 5.6.1
PrivacyVery dangerous. Twice now, I've opened the app, and it had my return info filled in from the previous session. Granted, the first 5 of the social security number are censored, the last 4 aren't. The app won't give info on return unless I force close it and open it again, but the fact that I have to do that despite the app not running in the background to begin with is concerning.

Version 5.5.1
Feature RequestsHate itSpendingThe app does it's job and does it well. The user needs to have their expected refund dollar amount on hand for the tax filling year. You need to have your 1040 available or have the expected or refunded amount recorded somewhere. If you don't have that exact figure, it won't find the information. The previous three tax filling years are available to look up.

Version 5.6.7
They are trying to keep you from viewing your return status, they have no reason why you still haven't gotten your return yet and so every day when you check, it just tells you that you have tried to access it too many times that day even though you haven't done it at all.
