I am not one to write reviews, actually, I don’t think I have ever written a review for an app. However, there has been a recent change to this app and I am hoping the issue can be resolved. I am a teacher and use these light strips within my classroom. The kids love them, I love them, and being able to control them with my phone via Bluetooth is my favorite feature! Recently, I have noticed when I open the app the ads are no longer muted and end up blaring very loudly. Previously, the ads were automatically muted when you open the app. I completely understand the need for ads, but I wanted to write this review and hopes that this feature could be changed. It is extremely distracting when I open up the app during school hours and whatever ad starts blaring… again, I absolutely love your products, and constantly recommend light strips to my colleagues! Not only are they fun, but they also serve as a wonderful visual classroom management tool for voice level! I bought this light strip for the space above the kitchen cabinets. The light strip is okay and easy to install. The Keepsmile app to use with these lights is so frustrating that I'm ready to pull the light strip out and throw it away. In the app, there is a function to set a timer so the lights come on/go off at a time you set. It NEVER comes on at my selected time. Right now, it is set to turn on at 6:00 pm daily and off at 9:30 pm nightly. It will come on anytime between 7 pm and 9 pm...never consistent. Tonight, I manually turned it on at 7:30 pm because it was not coming on. I don't know when it finally goes off because I usually go to bed before it goes off some time after 9:30 pm. The other annoying thing with this app are the ads. When you open the app, they show all of their Keepsmile products to buy plus when you click on your device to control it, you get other ads. Today when I opened the app to turn the lights on, I had to wait for the "commercial" to get done before I could proceed to the device managment and turn on the light. The light strip works from the app via Blutooth and not via your wifi. This means your device wiht the app has to be present to even turn on the lights. Don't waste your money or else put up with the headache and hassle.

I love this lamp but the ads in the app are making me hate it. The lamp is not anything extravagant but does exactly what I want it to do and I like the bright lower light as well as the color changes. I love being able to use the app to turn it on and off. HOWEVER For the love of God please offer a paid version of the app to get rid of ads. Or just get rid of the ads… I already bought the product, so making me watch ads makes zero sense. And ads with SOUND? Ridiculous. Please update. Take my money. Just stop this nonsense. Otherwise it’s going on Facebook marketplace for someone else to have an ad BLARE on full volume at night when they are trying to turn their lights off. Alternatively, if I have to watch ads, I should be given my money back. I am not “subscribing” to a service? This is not a streaming service please please please make an ad free version or stick to the pop up ads with NO SOUND.
