    Hate itSpendingUpdates

UPDATE: Notice how in their copy pasted response to everyone who had a similar recent issue they don’t address the fact that we lost all our progress, that is just gone with this “upgrade.” Nothing they suggest works. There is no “Paths” feature, that word isn't even in the app, same with first bites. Do not waste money on this app if you’re expecting to rely on it to help ease your baby into solids because the developer will just pull the rug on you at any time. They are still selling the PDF of the old content on their website which they link to if you try to get help, probably to try to skirt Apple’s subscription fees. If you have a similar issue with the update I recommend reporting them to Apple for violating their policies. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The best feature of the subscription was the Compass meal plan which had meals mapped out day by day with what to buy. The app just updated and removed this feature (they call it an “upgraded” Compass) right before our breakfast with no warning. We lost all our progress and no longer have the plan we were relying on for the rest of the week. It seems like they moved this feature to the website subscription which is separate from the app subscription. App subscription is basically worthless now and developer shouldn’t be trusted with your money

I love this app, it has been so helpful in so many ways! My son has a dairy protein allergy and so this app made it easy to keep track of what he had tried for his appointments. I did purchase the 100 dollar add on that goes over the whole plan and 100 foods in 100 days etc and I have to say I looked at it once when I bought it but it was like 200 pages and so I never referred back to it again, with a new baby who had dietary complications I just didn’t have the time to sit down and do it but others may find it helpful! The only reason I gave the app 4 stars is because of his allergy, there is no option to modify. So yes he’s tried bagels, and yes he’s had this and that, that may include dairy but I gave him non dairy options or substituted the dairy and it does not have the option to do that. So it looks like I introduced dairy when I had not. Which is fine at this time but then when I do introduce dairy it will get complicated to remember if “this bagel or that bagel” were the ones with the dairy or not. I wish they had a food allergy option. Maybe prompted questions “this item contains dairy, was a substitute made?” and the parent clicks yes and it tracks that. But overall, I use it daily, I’ve kept track of everything he has eaten since he started eating foods and I love having this tool.

I’ve used Solidstarts Instagram to learn how to cut foods and recipe ideas. However, the FREE app is beyond convenient to search exactly what you’re trying to serve. I’ve used his app for my first child. He’s now 20 months and thriving with food. He eats what we eat and I owe it all to Solidstarts. My daughter is 7 months and we started solids about a month ago. I’ve since forgotten how to serve a lot of foods for her age range. But then I can easily search the app and see how to cut foods, how to prepare, nutrition facts, history of the food etc. and it’s all backed by specialists, doctors and research. There’s also a free recipe included with each food they have in their system. Which is a win-win. You can decide to purchase a subscription to track foods. Their website also provides even MORE searchable data. They have a very advanced search engine which allows you to look up things like “prevent picky eating”, “baby eating fast” etc. and all the articles will populate on that topic. It’s amazing what this company is doing. I recommend this to all of the parents I know. I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication!!
