bereal was amazing. everyday i was so excited to see when it would go off. i loved seeing what all my friends were doing, especially the ones who live far away who i don’t see as often. and then it happened. THE ADS. they took over. every other bereal was a freaking facebook ad! then it was Bible Word Puzzle. i love the bible, but i don’t want ads for it’s word puzzle. then another one for facebook, and then crocs. they were taking over. all the ads would make the app tweak out and glitch. it would pause my music. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO PAUSE MY MUSIC??!!! and now, when you swipe up, it doesn’t show you all your friend’s bereals together!! it’s so annoying! and when people post an extra bereal, it’s separate from the first. what the sigma? this app was so good, i loved it. please please please please take away the ads, and bring back the swipe up thing and keep the extra bereals with the firsts. then it will be perf. and don’t even get me started with how you can follow celebrities now! that defeats the whole purpose of bereal. i don’t care what this random billionaire is doing in their mansion. bereal is for real friends. so get rid of that too. thank you for listening to my yap session. i do still love this app, but please consider what i’ve said.

I loved the original concept of BeReal and I made my account before it had any other updates, but unfortunately it's just gone down hill from where it started. It used to be a fun, chill place to see where your friends were and what they were doing at a certain time in the day. I loved it! But, with every update it becomes more like social media. I hate how every single app seems to morph into SnapChat once they gain a platform. My least favorite update is the "bonus BeReal." This update is supposed to give you the motivation to post on time because, if you do, you get to post two bonus BeReals throughout the day. I always post on time but I rarely use this feature because it's incredibly annoying when my friends on the app post their bonus BeReals only when they’re doing something fun or hanging out with people. (Again, social media.) This is the main reason I stay away from social media, is because it's just a way for everyone to brag without being a jerk and doing it right to your face. Enough said, I think it's clear how I feel about the app's slow decline towards being just another platform to get everyone else to think you're always doing fun things without them. Please fix this, it's just creating animosity between users. Edit: BeReal has introduced ads that mute your music if you’re scrolling while streaming music. Debating uninstalling.

I like how it shows how many times you take a picture and whether or not you were “on time”. The app is useless if you aren’t actually being real. Be genuine. Be REAL. Lol…have I taken 4 retakes to get the best angle? Yes. But no filters. Love it. You get to see a recap at the end of each year and I like to look back. And you don’t have to take a picture of yourself. I don’t take the photo of me in it every time (but most times I’m in it). You can choose private. Or have more fun and expand your horizons by letting your profile expand globally. Sometimes meeting cool people from around the world can help distract me from reality. So all in all BeReal is a neat app. There are a couple things I am not enjoying the new features where now users are able to tag people in the app. The reason I liked BeReal so much was that it did NOT have this feature. Months ago it used to be taking a front picture, back picture and if you got it in two minutes then I think you got to take one extra picture, but that was enough. Now, they are slowly adding feature by feature such as live photos and up to three photos can be taken in one day. it’s only a matter of time before they add filters and that is the day I will be deleting my account. Zero remorse. Stop selling out. that’s why you got a three star review.
