Update: 5 stars and wish I could give 10! The developer (this is a one-man show!) reached out and found the issue. The fix took less than a minute, everything is restored and I’m back to cooking my favorite rrcipes! This is a fantastic app and I look forward to using it for years to come. Thanks Will! Original review: I was one of the original users when the app first became available and as such the cost was for a lifetime of use. I recommended it to many people, all of whom loved it. While it’s been awhile since I used it, but when I opened it today to find all but 1 of my nearly 100 recipes gone and the message that the “free” version only allows me to save 15 recipes! I loved this app but now find it not only useless but need to figure out where I got those missing recipes and print them as I can’t rely on this app to save them! What happened?!

Because of the hundreds of ads that are only increasing as time goes on, on pretty much every blog, I had to assemble a giant binder of printed recipes when I found a good online recipe. Then I started using Pestle. It has nothing but the ingredients, the instructions, and other genuinely pertinent information. You can edit the recipe to your liking if you need to. And, if you want to see where it comes from, it has a link to wherever the recipe came from at the very end. Pestle is AMAZING!! Also, it has a nifty feature where you can turn on the microphone and just say “next” to go to the next step in the recipe. You don’t even even need to touch the screen. I absolutely love this app!

When I’m looking for something to cook, I don’t really care if your grandmother’s best friend first made this recipe for you when you were a kid. What I care about is what are the ingredients and how do I cook this meal? Unfortunately, most recipe websites don’t do this. Pestel solves a problem I’ve been looking to solve, how do I easily work from an Internet recipe without having to print it out. That’s the problem. I was looking to solve until I found this app. I didn’t know there was something that so easily import, tracks, and categorizes recipes. Not my wife and I are both on this app so we can add recipes from our own devices, and we use an old iPad in the kitchen to cook from. My only feature recommendation is to integrate with MyFitnessPal, so I can easily add the things I cook as meals in the MyFitnessPal app.
