MSG+ lets fans stream live Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Sabres games as well as hundreds of hours of original content. Gain access through a cable provider or purchase directly.

There are two ways fans can access MSG+:
• TVE: MSG+ is available at no additional cost to subscribers of participating cable/video providers who receive MSG Networks as part of their paid subscription. To watch, subscribers must sign in with their provider login and password.
• MSG+ Subscription: MSG+ is also available for those who do not have partnering cable subscriptions, as they can purchase one of the three available offerings (annual subscription, monthly subscription, or on a per-game basis).

Location restrictions:
• Only Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Sabres games broadcast on MSG Networks will be available on MSG+. Local blackout restrictions apply.
• League and programming restrictions require MSG+ mobile & tablet users to turn on location services. MSG+ will use location services to determine what content users are eligible to view. MSG+ is only available in the Continental US.

I rarely write apple app reviews, but I’m making an exception for this sorry excuse of an app. There are a significant amount of bugs that trap the user in “doom loops,” making watching Knicks and Rangers game impossible. For example, the app consistently asks me to login with my cable provider when I try to watch a game, even if I’m already logged in. The result is that I’m not able to watch because every time I hit play, I’m asked for my cable information. There are other issues with ads loading that are well referenced in these reviews. To James Dolan - your lack of investment in a functional app is frustrating fans of your team and making it less likely they remain Rangers or Knicks fans. Hopefully the lack of viewer growth will spur a change in the future, because this is a sorry excuse of an app.

The app earns two stars for decent image and audio quality. But this app is seriously dumb. Why can I not rewind games to where I want to see them? I can either go to the beginning or watch the live feed. If the video is smaller and overlaid there are 10 second forward and back buttons but they don’t work. But what is really stupid is that, if I am watching the game from the beginning in a shrunk screen and then then open full screen, it starts over again so I either have to watch everything I just watched or skip ahead to the live feed. So stupid. Just give me a scroll bar and forward and back buttons that work. This is 2024 not 1990, why is this still an issue?

I have never been able to get this app to work with my TV login (I have Spectrum) - every time I try to use the service I get a “You have exceeded the amount of login attempts, come back in 30 minutes” before the first time I’ve attempted to log in. It’s bad enough this app is only available on mobile/web app and not on my smart TV or any Fire stick/Chromecast/etc (which should be the bare minimum for a streaming platform in 2023) but their mobile and web apps don’t work most of the time. Terrible platform which replaced a fine functioning MSGGO (which had the same platform unavailability but I never had issues streaming Rangers games on supported devices like I do here).
